The parish's Liturgical Music Ministry is guided by the Director of Music in accordance to the needs and desires of the Pastor. St. Augustine said, "Singing is twice praying".
In other words, the power of the words through the beauty of music is a blessing of double the grace in our sung praise to God.
Becoming musically involved in the musical life of the Church is a wonderful experience and the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (G.I.R.M. #40) reminds us that: "great importance should be attached to the use of singing (music) in celebration of the Mass".
Consider also the Holy Scripture: The Christian faithful who gather together as one to await the Lord's coming are instructed by the Apostle Paul "to sing together psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs" (cf Col 3:16), and that singing is "the sign of the heart's joy" (cf. Acts 2:46).
Please pray about whether or not the Lord may be calling you to give back to Him your time and talent.
